Knowledge & Technology Transfer
24 VISION, a.s. (2021 – today)
The aim of the collaboration is to automate the field of defectoscopy on products that are currently inspected mainly by human experts, and to provide knowledge and automated solutions for general image processing problems.
MEPAC Precision Engineering (2020 – today)
Cooperation is taking place in various areas of industrial production. A solution was implemented to help in the field of welding with automated evaluation of weld quality based on artificial intelligence; similarly, in the field of engraving, a unique solution was created that allows evaluating the depth of engraving during the engraving process. Currently, a project is being developed focusing on quality evaluation in the production of polymer components, again using artificial intelligence and image processing.
Varroc Lighting Systems (2020 – today)
The cooperation took place in several areas focused on automotive lighting systems. On the one hand, a survey was conducted of possible solutions for object detection and estimation of their distance in night conditions with regard to the illumination of the object. The second area of cooperation was the evaluation of the light characteristics of light sources, replacing the original solution based on the Goniophotometer with a solution based on a brightness camera and processing the captured images using convolutional neural networks and image processing.
Faculty of Medicine, UO (2021 – 2023)
A project aimed at making the diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases more efficient. In this project, primarily Parkinson's disease. In the project, we focused on segmenting structures in the brain that are interesting from the point of view of diagnosing the disease. In addition to the segmentation model, we created a model that was able to localize brain scans in the global coordinate system.
Faculty of Social Studies, UO (2018 – 2022)
The aim of the collaboration was to develop the EVKA (Evaluation of Community Activities) tool to support community planning. The software is used to collect information describing the community and its development over time. Based on the information collected, it is able to propose recommendations for the direction of future cooperation using artificial intelligence.
