The most important tools for data fusion are fusion functions, especially aggregation functions and their generalizations. The research of the group focuses on the characterization of the most important classes of aggregation and fusion functions, such as integrals with respect to non-additive measures (including Choquet and Sugeno integrals), copulas, and associative fusion functions (including t-norms, t-conorms, uninorms, nullnorms, n-uninorms, and their non-commutative versions). Another important task is the design of construction methods for these functions, which are then also used in their characterization. Following the latest trends in aggregation theory, the group also focuses on extending the achieved results from real intervals to more complex structures, such as bounded lattices or bounded posets.
