Lecture by Prof. Piotr Oprocha at the Vojtěch Jarník International Mathematical Competition

On 22 April 2026, the 33rd Annual Vojtěch Jarník International Mathematical Competition was held at the Faculty of Science of the University of Ostrava. The Institute for Research and Applications of Fuzzy Modeling served as a co-organizer of the event. The programme also included a plenary lecture by Prof. Piotr Oprocha, Ph.D., entitled Chaos and Order. The lecture focused on the mathematical perspective on chaos, which in everyday language is often associated with disorder and unpredictability. Prof. Oprocha introduced the topic in the broader context of deterministic systems and mathematical models, showing that even seemingly irregular phenomena may exhibit identifiable structural properties and a deeper mathematical order.
