Ostr-AI 2026 – AI Summer School 2026

In 2026, the Institute for Research and Applications of Fuzzy Modeling organized Ostr-AI 2026 – AI Summer School for the first time. The summer school focused on artificial intelligence, its current capabilities, and practical applications. The in-person programme took place on 26–27 August 2026 and combined expert talks, hands-on demonstrations, practical examples, and plenty of room for discussion. Alongside an introduction to current approaches in AI, the programme placed strong emphasis on how these methods can be applied in practice and developed further through participants’ own ideas and projects. One of the strengths of Ostr-AI 2026 was the diversity of its participants. The summer school brought together people from different countries, academic backgrounds, and the business sector. This mix of perspectives contributed to lively discussions and valuable exchanges of experience throughout the two days.

The in-person programme was only the beginning. Participants then continued with independent work on their own projects, applying the knowledge and methods introduced during the summer school to specific tasks and further developing their ideas. Those who successfully completed their projects received certificates of completion. The certificates did not mark the end of Ostr-AI 2026. The summer school concluded with an online follow-up session on 13 October 2026, held via Discord. Participants had the opportunity to present their project results and progress, discuss their approaches, ask questions, and receive feedback. Presenting a project was entirely optional, and the session was also open to participants who simply wanted to follow the presentations and join the discussion. Ostr-AI 2026 therefore went beyond a two-day event, combining face-to-face teaching with several weeks of independent project work and a final online session focused on participants’ own results and experience.

We would like to thank all participants and lecturers for their active involvement, thoughtful discussions, and the friendly atmosphere throughout Ostr-AI 2026.
